Types of Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a unique and wonderful process. There are so few occasions in life where we put down everything else we are doing, and simply attend to what is going on inside. This is what is possible within your own therapy.

Flower Bud Petals

Some people are drawn to coming to work on themselves when they are in crisis, or when they find themselves at a crossroad and need to make profound and life changing choices. Others simply calmly notice themselves being less attuned to themselves and their lives, and longing for a sense of peacefulness and fulfillment

Whatever your motivation for beginning therapy, I can offer you a space where you will be seen and heard. I will be striving to accurately understand the world as it seems to you, and in doing so helping you to flesh out your own understanding of yourself.

Therapy should feel like a space where you are safe, valued and known. If you feel like this space is something you would benefit from, Email me here or get in touch today via the contact form at the bottom of this page.

Couples Counselling

Holding Hands

Relationships are difficult, and its a myth to imagine that they don't take work. Whether you feel you and your partner could benefit from counselling because you want to begin with a solid foundation, or you have hit a bumpy patch in the road, counselling can be of help to you.

All relationships will reach a point where 'something happens' perhaps it's a new baby, a new job, a change in family dynamics, an affair, a death, an illness or any number of other disturbances to the status quo, and when that change happens, things can fall apart.

The role of counselling is to give the couple space to explore what has happened, how they have come to find themselves where they are, and what they want moving forwards. There will be time to explore past grievances, missed feelings, and missed opportunities.

Couples counselling can be a wonderful way of getting to know, or reconnecting with your partner at a deeper level. Your therapy will offer you to the opportunity to be safely vulnerable, and honest with your partner, and to assess collaboratively the landscape you now find yourselves in, and where you want to go, together.

Outdoor Therapy

(Walk & Talk)

Outdoor therapy is about engaging in the therapeutic process with a connection to nature. For most people that will involve walking alongside one another, and having a session as we walk through a natural space, a woodland, a fell or a beach for instance.

Quiet Forest

I think we can all benefit from a connection to nature, and many people reflect that they find it soothing to be in that setting whilst processing their difficult material. For some people the landscape, the sights and smells and textures of nature provide further material and language with which to explore their 'stuff'.  Working in a different way can sometimes be the difference between getting help, or not. So if you think this way of working may be helpful to you, get in touch by emailing me here or using the contact us form at the bottom of the page.

Online Counselling

Online Counselling can allow you to continue to access therapy when practical logistics get in the way, whether its through travel, sickness, a lack of childcare or or lack of time for commuting, online sessions can allow you to access the help you need from where you are.

Laptop

For a long time, online therapy was thought of as the poor relation to face to face work, but this is rapidly changing. Online therapy has surged in popularity since the outbreak of Covid 19, as people are forced to rely more heavily on technology in order to connect with others- and that includes therapy.

Online therapy can make available the right professional for you. If you are looking for someone with an indepth understanding and experience of a niche issue, you may not be able to find someone working on it locally, online work can allow you to get the specialist support you need.

Get in touch here via Email, or using the contact us form at the bottom of the page.
